Our ongoing projects and programmes
The Andean Youth Project was developed out of the need for transitional support for young school leavers in Ccorca and Huanoquite due to the lack of access to higher education. Our firm belief is that education is crucial in order to enable young people to overcome barriers and gain access to fair employment. The project is based on the 2030 agenda of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, particularly quality education, gender equality and decent work and economic growth.
The Amazon Youth Project was developed out of the need for transitional support for young school leavers in Iquitos due to the lack of access to higher education. This project is also based on the 2030 agenda of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, particularly quality education, gender equality and decent work and economic growth.
Through the Ethical Trade Project, we help strengthen the financial independence of the artisans of Ccorca (Cusco), who have limited employment opportunities. The project also contributes to the financial sustainability of Amantani.
Through the Meet My World Project, young people are able to define how they are portrayed, writing and presenting their own films in which they can teach people about what it means to be themselves.
Our former projects and programmes
Through the Boarding Houses Monitoring Programme, we supervise and keep in touch with the former families and participants of the Boarding Houses Project. We focus on the most vulnerable participants and make sure we support them in the best way possible.
Our Boarding Houses helped children who previously had to walk up to eight hours daily to get to school. By staying with us, each child saved an average of 737 hours of walking per year. That time was then spent attending workshops and classes designed to support their schoolwork, ensuring the children achieved the most from their education.
In our ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Academy we worked in partnership with schools in Ccorca to enable pupils to learn fundamental computing skills such as using Microsoft Office, e-mail and the Internet.
